Assistant Professor, History of the Islamic World. The History Department at Western Kentucky University invites applications for a tenure-track position as an assistant professor, beginning August 2009. Candidates should specialize in the history of societies shaped by Islam within the Middle East, Asia, and/or Africa. The successful candidate will be expected to teach survey courses in Western Civilization as part of the General Education program, as well as specialized undergraduate and graduate courses in field of expertise. Ph.D. in History expected by time of appointment. Applicants should demonstrate potential for successful teaching and scholarship.
