The Department of History at Kent State University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in the History of Modern European Science or Technology, beginning Fall 2009. Geographic field is open, but we particularly encourage those whose work compliments the existing strengths of the department and is comparative or transnational. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to publication of their research, and will develop courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level in the History of Science or Technology. The successful candidate will also contribute to a planned joint PhD program with the University of Akron with a strong thrust in global history.
