The Department of History and Philosophy at Eastern Michigan University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship beginning fall 2009 in the history of Latin America. The successful candidate will teach introductory courses in world history as well as upper division and graduate courses in the history of Mexico and Latin America. He or she also will have the opportunity to develop courses in his or her area of expertise. Field of specialization is open, but preference will be given to those who study the history of Mexico. Applicants who have completed the PhD by August 31, 2009 are strongly preferred.
