Lakehead University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor commencing August 1, 2009.
The successful applicant will have the ability to teach World History at the first-year level and have research and teaching expertise in one or more of the following areas: Asian, African, Middle Eastern or another field of non-Western history. The department welcomes applications from candidates specializing in any thematic or temporal field.
Applicants should have a completed PhD by the time of appointment and provide evidence of a clearly-defined research program leading to publication.Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels. A commitment to service, which the successful applicant will demonstrate through participation in the administrative duties of the department and the wider university community, is also a requirement.
