Islamic World: The Department of History at Texas Christian University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in the history of the Islamic world to begin fall 2009. All periods and specializations will be considered; applicants who are able to offer survey courses on the Middle East are particularly encouraged. The successful candidate will be able to teach upper-level courses in her/his area of expertise, offer a broad history survey course, and contribute to the department's MA and PhD programs. TCU is a highly selective teaching and research university in a major metropolitan area where faculty enjoy competitive salaries, a 3/2 teaching load, and research support. Candidates must have completed the Ph.D. by the start of Fall semester 2009.
