Assistant Professor, Native American History

The Department of History at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks to make an appointment at the assistant professor level in Native American/Borderlands History, with a focus on the time period between the 16th and early 19th centuries (prior to the Civil War). The area of research specialization is open, although the department expects the successful candidate to teach a broad survey in Native American History.
Candidates must have the Ph.D. completed no later than May 2009. Applicants with teaching experience beyond the level of TA will be given preference. Dossiers will be considered continuously until an appointment is made, however, candidates applying prior to December 1 will be eligible for interviews at the AHA.
