World History
The Department of History and the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University invite applications for tenure-track faculty position in World History. This is an open rank, tenure-track or tenured position to begin in September, 2009. The applicant should be a specialist in world history or a region of the world other than North America or Europe (such as South Asia or Latin America) since 1500. We seek a committed instructor prepared to teach the undergraduate world history survey each semester, with other courses to be determined based on the applicant's areas of specialization. Basic qualifications: applicants must have the Ph.D. awarded by August 15, 2009, evidence of an active research agenda such as scholarly publications or works in progress, demonstrated excellence in teaching as shown by teaching assessments and public presentations, with experience teaching world history, and an interest in policy issues that will complement the missions of the Department and the Elliott School.
