Assistant Professor of History

The History Department at Muskingum College is accepting applications for a full-time renewable term assistant professorship in Ancient or Medieval European History beginning Fall 2009. The initial term of appointment will be for two years. The successful candidate will teach sections of the world history survey as well as upper level course offerings in one's field of specialty. The classroom load is four courses per semester. PhD preferred, but ABDs will be considered.
Muskingum College, a comprehensive college with a strong liberal arts tradition,
is located seventy miles east of Columbus in the village of New Concord, OH.
Founded in 1837, the College today has 100 faculty and a traditional undergraduate enrollment of 1,600. The total undergraduate, graduate, and adult student population is approximately 2,800.
