The History Department of the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenure-track position in modern Eastern European History, at the rank of Assistant Professor. This is a new position that will complement our existing strengths in Balkan, Russian, and German history. Applicants should have PhD in hand or expected by August 2009, documented evidence of teaching excellence, and a clearly defined research agenda. The selected candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop a strong research
program, direct graduate research, produce demonstrated evidence of successful research productivity, and exhibit a commitment to service to the department, college, and university.
