The History Department at California State University, Sacramento invites applications for an entry-level tenure-track Assistant Professor position in European History with a specialization in Central Europe to begin Fall 2009 (this is a re-activated search if desired, candidates who applied last year can contact the office to use the application on file). Candidates must be qualified to teach a course in the history of Germany and to develop additional courses related to Central Europe. Candidates with additional expertise in Eastern European history desired. Area of research specialization within these fields is open. The successful candidate will also engage in scholarly activities, supervise undergraduate and graduate research, advise History majors and minors, serve on department, college and university committees, and perform community service. The Ph.D. in History or related field must be completed by August 15, 2009. Review of applications will begin October 20, 2008; position open until filled.
