Modern Japan, Assistant Professor, tenure-track. The History Department at the University of Colorado at Boulder invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor of Modern Japanese History (late nineteenth century and after) to begin August 2009. All subfields and areas of specialization will be considered. Qualified applicants will have a Ph.D. in History by the time of appointment and will be able to demonstrate the potential for excellent scholarship and effective teaching. Duties will include teaching survey, upper-division, and graduate courses; researching and publishing; and contributing service to the university and to the profession.
