Assistant Professor, 18th or 19th Century History of the Middle East

The Department of History at Stanford University, as part of a multidepartment search under the auspices of the Division of International, Comparative and Area Studies, seeks an outstanding junior scholar for a tenure-track assistant professorship in the history of the Middle East, with scholarly interest in the eighteenth or nineteenth centuries. The appointment begins September 1, 2009 and will be based fully in the History Department. We are especially interested in candidates who can participate in broad interdisciplinary conversations.
