Call for Papers: Zeitschrift für Genozidforschung: Special Issue "The Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire", 2015
Call for Papers Date:
The Zeitschrift für Genozidforschung ("Journal for Genocide Studies") is published twice a year by the Institute for Diaspora and Genocide Studies (IDG) at the University of Bochum, Germany. The journal aims to provide an interdisciplinary venue for innovative research on collective violence and genocides. It seeks to combine articles from established scholars with contributions from promising young researchers.
In 2015, the journal plans to publish a special issue on the “The Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.” On the occasion of the genocide’s 100th anniversary, we invite papers that highlight new research perspectives. Submissions that focus on one of the following issue areas are particularly welcome:
- local and regional implementation structures of genocidal policies;
- specific actors or groups of actors directly involved in acts of genocide;
- the attitudes and reactions (or non-reactions) of international actors;
- gender-specific aspects of the violence and its experience;
- the Armenian genocide in discourses of international law.
If you are interested in contributing to the special issue, please send a manuscript of no more than 10,000 words (including footnotes) plus a short biographical note to the editors at firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject heading “Special Issue: The Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.” The Zeitschrift für Genozidforschung accepts papers in German and English. The deadline for submissions is December 31, 2014. We will inform you about the outcome of the peer review process by the end of February 2015. The publication of the issue is scheduled for June/July 2015.
