Nominations are now being accepted for the Northeast Popular Culture/American Culture Association (NEPCA) 2014 Rollins Award. The award is one of two regional conference book awards named in honor of Peter C. Rollins, regents professor of English from Oklahoma State University and champion of popular culture scholarship. The NEPCA Rollins Award honors the work of authors with ties to the New England area. NEPCA is a regional chapter of the Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association (PCA/ACA). It is a multidisciplinary community of scholars interested in advancing research and promoting interest in the disciplines of popular and/or American culture. The annual conference draws scholars from around the world.
Criteria for submissions for the NEPCA Rollins Award:
· Published in 2013
· The author must live or work in New England/New York or resided there within the past three years.
· The work must be an original, scholarly, thesis-driven monograph on a topic relevant to American popular culture
The following are not eligible for consideration: fiction, anthologies, edited books, and collections
Publishers are invited to nominate two (2) books that meet the above criteria for the 2014 Rollins Award. Submissions are only accepted directly from publishers.
The NEPCA 2014 Rollins Award will be presented at the NEPCA annual conference at Providence College October 24-25, 2014.
