It is my pleasure to announce to you this year's German-Danish Cross-Border Summer School "Debating Separatism in Europe: Negotiation Skills and Simulation Game".
The event will take place from August 17-22nd on the Small Oxenisland in Denmark at the German border.
Based on a cooperation between the University of Flensburg and the Syddansk Universitet, we will offer a one-week seminar on separatism in Europe, blend it with essential training in negotiation skills andrhetoric to then simulate a European Council Summit on the subject matter.
The summer school will be located literally on the border between Germany and Denmark, in an appropriate location for high-rank summits: a small and rather isolated island. Field trips and lectures from experts will offer insights into the subject matter and give the opportunity to fully experience bordering spaces.
Both Bachelor and Master students with a social science background are encouraged to apply.
The participation fee of 120 € includes accommodation, full board and all course contents.
5 ECTS will be granted for successful participation. Courses and simulations will be held in English.
In order to apply, send a letter of motivation and a recent CV to firstname.lastname@example.org Deadline for application is June 14, 2014.
We are looking forward to receiving your application.
Best regards, Sophie Wulk
