The National Collaborative for Women's History Sites (NCWHS) seeks applications from students, independent scholars and academic historians for the Peg Strobel Travel Grant. A $1500 travel stipend will be awarded to a student/scholar of women's/public history who works and studies the preservation, interpretation, and promotion of sites and locales that record women's participation in American life. The travel grant will help defray costs associated with attending the 2014 Berkshire Women’s History Conference in Toronto, Ontario May 22-25, 2014.
To apply, submit a statement (1200-1500 words) describing how attending the Berkshire conference will be useful to your study of/interest in women's and public history. Include a brief (one paragraph) biographical statement.
Recipient is expected to submit a brief article after the conference describing the value of the conference to their historical interest which will be published in the NCWHS newsletter and on the NCWHS website.
