Chesapeake American Studies Association, April 19th, 2014.
The 2014 meeting of the Chesapeake chapter of the American Studies Association (CHASA) will be hosted by the Cultural Studies doctoral program at George Mason University, Fairfax VA, Saturday April 19th 2014. CHASA is now accepting proposals for papers and panels that address any of the cultural, social or political-economic aspects of American life. Please send 150-word individual paper proposals and a brief bio as MS Word attachments to firstname.lastname@example.org, with “chasa” as the subject line. Proposals for panels will be accepted and should be 1 page maximum. We welcome a range of panel formats, but all panels should fit within a 75-minute time frame with at least 15 minutes dedicated to audience discussion.
It is not necessary to be a CHASA or ASA member to submit a proposal.Graduate students are especially encouraged to attend and present papers. A small prize is given annually for the best student paper delivered at the conference.
The deadline for proposals is February 14th, 2014.
