The Department of English and Comparative Literary Studies at the University of Warwick is pleased to announce that from academic year 2014-15, we will be offering a number of competitive fellowships to fund MA studies. There will be two full fellowships up to the amount of fees for UK-based students (currently around £7,000) but open to all applicants. We also have three bursaries of £2,000 for highly qualified applicants. All candidates wishing to be considered for the bursaries should submit their applicants well in advance of the 25 April 2014 deadline for the funding competition.
The Department of English and Comparative Literary Studies, located in the West Midlands, is regularly rated one of the top five English programmes in the UK. The University is also among the top 50 universities worldwide in international rankings.
Our department offers an exciting and diverse set of courses for students to choose from, ranging from “Shakespeare and His Sister” to “Aesthetics and Modernity” to “Problems and Modes in Postcolonial Literature.” Our student body is diverse, with people from across the UK and Europe and around the world. Housing is readily available on campus or nearby in the charming town of Leamington Spa or in Coventry. Our classes are small, meaning every student gets a lot of individual attention and guidance.
Our MA prizes itself on its flexibility. Students can choose to do 100% coursework (meaning that they complete six different 10-week long modules), or they can do coursework plus a 16,000- or 20,000-word dissertation. Students who opt for a dissertation work closely with a renowned expert in their field of interest.
