Scholars, academics, published authors and acknowledged experts in their fields may apply to become Scholars-in-Residence at WISC. Their work must focus on women in the arts, sciences, cultural preservation or business. The period of residence is normally a month with a stipend of $1,000. Two-week or two-month residences with proportional stipends are also possible. Each Scholar is expected to make a public presentation during the period in residence.
Applications are welcome from both men and women needing a place to work on a publication or creative work, scholars with research interests in a local archive or collection, project developers seeking a space to develop a program or proposal, or others whose work relates to advancing scholarship and awareness of the achievements of women in one of the four areas of central concern to WISC.
