In order to promote our mission to educate the public about the Vietnam Era, we conduct professional development workshops for regional educators. Our workshops help educators learn about different aspects of the Vietnam Era. The Forum takes global issues and ideas and presents them through a local, New Jersey perspective.
The Forum provides educators with important scholarly and experience-based educational tools for developing comparisons between the past and present. Each panel includes individuals who share their own experiences and knowledge. The Forum is an opportunity to delve deeper into a specific topic with ample time for questions and answers.
The NJVVMF is a registered New Jersey Professional Development provider.
15TH ANNUAL INTERDISCIPLINARY FORUM ON THE VIETNAM ERA
"We Were There Too: The Evolution of Women's Roles in Conflict"
The roles that American women have played during periods of militaryconflict have experienced a dramatic evolution. With each generation, women have moved closer and closer to the front lines of military operations. Further, technological advances have made it easier for families on the home front to communicate with their loved ones during military deployments.
This year’s panels focus on the experiences of women from Vietnam through modern day, both “in country” and on the home front, illustrating this evolution through personal perspectives.
