Afro-Americans in New York Life and History is looking for submissions for its upcoming January 2014 issue to enrich our understanding of African Americans in New York. We seek to engage a variety of issues addressed by scholars, public historians, educators and other practitioners in the field. Papers on the anniversaries of the civil rights movement and Civil War are particularly welcome.

The citation style used by the AANYLH generally follows the conventions recommended by the Chicago Manual of Style, 15th Edition. The text should be double-spaced. Citations should be numbered consecutively and should appear as endnotes. Please include your full addresses, including e-mail, in all correspondence.
The editors prefer that manuscripts be submitted in an email as a Microsoft Word attachment or in Rich Text Format (RTF) to email@example.com with the title of the submission in the subject line. No manuscript will be considered for publication if it is currently under consideration by another journal or if it has been published elsewhere.
