The Midwest Medieval History Conference invites scholars and students of the medieval world to attend its fifty-second annual meeting 18-19 October 2013 hosted by Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN. This year’s theme, “Masters, Means, and Methods: The (Liberal) Arts in the Medieval World,” concerns the transmission of knowledge, from masters to students, from practitioners to audience. It includes papers regarding the liberal arts, the fine arts, and the practical arts in all eras of the Middle Ages. The conference will also feature a plenary lecture by Jordan Sramek, founder and artistic director of The Rose Ensemble, and a roundtable discussion “The Medieval World in the Modern Classroom.” Registration and lodging information available at: http://www.augsburg.edu/medievalstudies/mmhc-2013
