The Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center presents "17th Century Warfare, Diplomacy, & Society in the American Northeast", a two-day interdisciplinary conference in conjunction with the Museum's 15th anniversary. The conference brings together scholars in the fields of anthropology, archaeology, history, ethnohistory, geography, literature and Native American studies to examine the complexity of a changing cultural landscape, and the consequences of colonization and warfare. Conference sessions include: War & Ties That Bind, Wampanoag Historical Landscapes of the 17th Century, War & Diplomacy: Politics & Conflict, Memory & Legacy, Gender & Society, Material Culture and Narratives & Language.
