We are delighted to announce a call for participants for a two-day Workshop on 'Modern Approaches to English Language Teaching' for faculty of English at Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, India, from 16 to 17 August 2013.
To keep pace with the latest developments in the techniques and resources for language teaching, and the changing needs of the learners, language teachers need to update their knowledge and skills periodically. Specialized training needs to be imparted to language teachers to increase their expertise and knowledge of modern resources and strategies which can be incorporated in class. The goal of language teaching is communicative competence, and the language class should aim to enhance the communicative skills of the learners in the target language.
Taking into account the mixed abilities of the students in the language classroom, this workshop will focus on participatory approaches to language teaching. This Workshop will provide an opportunity to English Language Teaching teachers to update their knowledge of the current approaches and modern techniques in English Language Teaching.
