This session is seeking papers that address the depictions and their meanings of angels/ divine messengers in the art od Islam, Judaism and Christianity during the (Christian) Middle Ages. While all papers will be considered, those that address themes relevant to angelology in *medieval* Islam and/or Judaism and/or in a comparative conversation among or between the Abrahamic faiths are particularly encouraged. All disciplinary methodologies will be entertained and creative/ multimedia formatting of presentations will be welcome.
The International Congress of Medieval Studies meets annually at Western Michigan State U in Kalamazoo, MI. The conference dates for the 2014 Congree are May 8-11: proposals should be sent to June-Ann Greeley no later than August 15, 2013 via email or hard copy.
