45th Annual Convention, Northeast Modern Language Association (NeMLA)
April 3-6, 2014
Dystopia as a genre has exploded in recent years. This panel will look for reasons for the recent increase in popularity of dystopia by looking at particular works and the ways they approach and possibly change the genre. Margaret Atwood’s Maddaddam trilogy and The Hunger Games trilogy stand out for their popularity but lesser known works are welcome.
