John Prestonís print collection "Hot Living: Erotic Stories about Safer Sex," which was published in 1985, marks a significant use of narrative to explore the intersection of creative writing and the GLBTQ perspective in contemporary culture. The GLBTQ Studies Area of MAPACA is seeking proposals for a panel that features GLBTQ creative writing.
The goal of the panel will be to share works-in-progress or recently published work to explore the production of GLBTQ creative writing and to create community by sharing information to support GLBTQ inclusion in publishing endeavors. An additional goal might be the consideration of creative writing within contemporary popular culture venues to support productive and well-rounded GLBTQ representation.
Please log into the MAPACA website to submit a proposal, which might include the title of the work, a synopsis, and perhaps a sample of it.
Please note: Conference participants may only present 1 paper at MAPACA; please do not submit multiple papers to multiple areas. Also, please note a sliding scale fee applies for conference registration.
