HaLapid: Journal of the Society for Crypto-Judaic Studies(SCJS), in affiliation with the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs is seeking submissions in the form of articles for its next volume. We invite scholarly article submissions on a variety of themes pertaining to crypto-Judaism, crypto Jews, and/or crypto-Jewishness from any discipline in the humanities or social sciences. Articles may explore any geographic location or time period. Articles dealing with aspects of the Sephardic experience, as well as articles breaking new ground in research on crypto-Jews in the American Southwest are particularly welcome.
HaLapid: Journal of SCJS is a peer-reviewed multidisciplinary journal, focusing on the contemporary and historic development of crypto Jews, particularly those of Iberian origin. We feature academic as well as artistic and literary content.
Article contributions (5000–6000 words) should be original work. Submissions should be formatted in 12pt Times New Roman font; single spaced & justified; no indentation on first line of each paragraph; 2 spaces separate each paragraph; title of work should be centered; author’s name appears directly below title on the left side; Chicago Manuel of Style format for endnotes. Articles should be submitted as Word files. Authors are required to submit an abstract (100-200 words) and a brief bio prior to sending in the full submission.
