International Conference on Managing the Asian Century 2013
When: 11-13 July 2013
Hosted By: JCU Singapore - a campus of James Cook University Australia
This century belongs to Asia in terms of future growth and geopolitical influences in the world. As per Asian Development Bank report the capacity for economic supremacy is in place, but the Asian nations must address weaknesses in education investment, women’s rights and technology, managing climate change effects on trade and economics, wage inequality, poor governance and corruption. This means there are huge challenges for businesses to establish world class practices; societies to change attitude and embrace non-indigenous cultural influences; governments and leaders to find new ways of leading the nations.
This conference offers both academics and practitioners the opportunity to share knowledge in several disciplines relevant to Asian countries. The focus is on ASEAN countries and the overarching question is how we together facilitate the developments in these emerging economies.
The conference theme is “Managing the Asian Century”. The conference organizers welcome contributions that draw upon contemporary developments in practices of management, education system, organizational development, studies in tropics, financial and economic planning, and others areas significant to socio cultural economic and environmental development.
It is anticipated that the conference will attract a mixture of industry, government, and academic delegates. Presentations will focus on addressing the interests and needs of this diverse audience. Practical applications guided by good theory, success stories, 'learning experiences', and integrative approaches will be delivered in plenary sessions and specialized themes. A panel session addressing topical themes, and tutorial/workshop sessions in emerging areas will also be available to delegates.
Young Researcher Workshop. A workshop is available to young researchers who want extra help in organizing research, paper writing, publication outlet selection, book proposal writing and networking with journal editors.
An impressive group of academics and experts confirmed keynote and plenary presentations.
