Specifically, this webinar aims to:
- Situate the Chagos Islands in a larger geopolitical context.
- Give examples of the consequences of military operations, and of African resistance and criticism.
- Discuss why teachers and students should know about this military activity as responsive global actors.

The network's primary purpose is to allow for broader dissemination of information relating to autofiction studies. The network aims to facilitate a productive discussion on autofiction, inform scholars about recent publications in the field, share academic events, and promote research and exploration of the concept of autofiction.
