African-Baptist Church in Canada Bibliography June, 1996

Query From Marg Conrad margaret,conrad@acadiau.ca 17 June 1996

I have a graduate student working on the role of women in the African-Baptist church in Nova Scotia, Canada. I would like to work up a bibliography on relevant sources--especially sources that address the impact of church activities(19th and 20th centuries) in empowering African-American women and serving as a form of adult education.

Responses:

Higginbothom, Evelyn Brooks Righteous Discontent: The Women's Movement in the Black Baptist Church, 1880-1920
