Subject: More about "Education About Asia"

The premier issue of the journal EDUCATION ABOUT ASIA just came
out. It is a brand new publication of the Association of Asian
Studies and reflects their efforts to forge links between k-12
and secondary education. The editors hope the journal will help
more school teachers incorporate Asia-related material into their
classrooms. This first issue is (as they admit in the intro.)
still very college oriented but they hope to have more input from
secondary and other level educators. To order contact Association
for Asian Studies, 1 Lane Hall, The University of Michigan, Ann
Arbor, MI 48104 postmaster@aasyanst.org

Prof. Conlon and Prof. Leibo have an article about H-ASIA in the
premier issue (vol. 1, no. 1, Feb. 1996) "In a Teacher's
Cyber-Lounge: The Emergence of H-Asia."
Other articles about electronic resources include

-"The Indiana University List Server for East Asian Languages and
Cultures," by Jason Lewis;

-"Japan and the Internet," by Judith Ames;

And there are many more useful articles in this issue.
