recently announced its establishment of a Website on Latino
registration, voting, and political mobilization in the
Southwest. Still under construction, this site is nevertheless
very useful. Below is a brief account of the establishment of

"SVREP & SVRI Unveil Internet Homepage."
On July 15, 1995, Southwest unveiled its Internet homepage at
he Latino Vote '95 Conference in Pasadena, California. The
homepage is part of Southwest's broad-based communications
initiative designed to further empower our communities by
providing useful information, resource materials, and
technological advancements.
Accessible materials include: current and back newsletters,
Latino voter research, polls, public policy studies,
demographics, interactive maps and educational materials
including video and audio clips.
Sponsored by General Telephone and Electric (GTE) of
California, the site was developed in conjunction with the NAID
Center at UCLA and Information Systems & Development Research
Associates (ISADRA), of Palo Alto, California. The Website is
open now and is being maintained by SVREP. Drop in for a visit,
