INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
"AMERICAN AND SIBERIAN FRONTIER"

OCTOBER, 4-6, 1996 TOMSK

Organizers:

State Committee of Russian Federation on Higher Education,
Tomsk State University,
Siberian Association of American Studies
American Information Resource Center

The following problems are supposed to be discussed at the conference:
- Ways and forms of settlement on new territories.
- People of the frontier: myth and reality.
- Religious factor in settlement of the new historical space.
- Aborigenous peoples and national minorities.

Operating languages of the Conference: Russian and English.

The organizing committee requests you to confirm the participation in the
conference, to fill the application form (it is applied to this report) and
o send it to mail, fax, e-mail before June 30, 1996 in order to facilitate
the conference and its program.

The registration fee for foreign participants is 400 US D. It will cover
the cost of the hotel, meals, local transportation and other expenses. It
may be paid to the organizing committee in cash on arrival to Tomsk.
