I am mainly interested in German-American relations and the history of
Germans in the USA. Right now I am working on a dissertation on German
overseas migration in the 1950s; a large number of Germans immigrated to the
US. More generally, I am interested in American society and politics and hope
this list will be a good source of information.

I am currently an educational information specialist who advises
German students on study opportunities in the U.S. My original "field"
is American Studies with an emphasis on recent American fiction,
especially writings by black authors. For more than ten years I edited an
American Studies publication for German teachers of English.

My main interest is in U.S history. So far I have published a book and
several articles on Theodore Roosevelt's foreign policy (in German) and am
now working on an intellectual history of the Western community of values,
in particular Germany's turn towards the West and the United States.
