British Universities Newsreel Database (BUND)

Data on the Net
http://odwin.ucsd.edu/idata/
The best guide to statistical data and gateways on the net, maintained by Jim Jacobs, Data Librarian in the Social Sciences Data Centre at the University of San Diego. Its possible to miss data that you want, since the search function does not go very deeply into each site, so try searching under a variety of terms, the broader, the better. For European data, it is probably better to use the Guide to International Sources for European Statistical Data.

Kansas List of History Websites
http://www.ukans.edu/history/VL/topical/urban.html
The best place to start looking for historical websites. It has especially strong links to archives and data bases, both in Europe and the U.S. Not always well-maintained, so if a URL draws a blank, try searching under the title, using Google.

It includes information on the field of public history and presents an excellent methodology for reviews, as well a number of full length reviews. Some readers may be especially interested in their "Reviews of World's Fair Websites" at http://www.publichistory.org/reviews/July2000/index.html#2.

Repositories of Primary Sources
http://www.uidaho.edu/special-collections/Other.Repositories.html
Terry Abraham at the University of Idaho has created what is believed to be the most extensive set of links to libraries with archival and special collections in the world. If you are looking for resources on a particular locality, this is a good starting point. Abraham's site has more links to collections, especially at the local level than the Library of Congress' National Union Catalog of Manuscript collections at http://lcweb.loc.gov/coll/nucmc/usframes.html. Moreover Abraham covers the world, not just the U.S. However, the Library of Congress has important information for archivists and preservationists, such as links to professional societies, job/grant opportunities, copyright laws and how-to-catalog information.

Society of Architectural Historians
http://www.sah.org
This site offers bibliographies (including a list of architectural history dissertations underway) for a number of cities, and excellent links to local sites. Through its website, the Society of Architectural Historians also offers the largest number of architectural images on the web, by far, as part of its image exchange. Oddly enough, the exact number of images is not specified. The site links to other local image collections for various cities around the world. It also has short biographies of leading architects.
