DAVID BERISS

Biographical Statement

David Beriss is an assistant professor of anthropology at the University of New Orleans. His current research projects focus on ethnic activism in Paris and on the culture of political activists in Washington, D.C. His most recent article, "Culture-as-Race or Culture-as-Culture: Caribbean Ethnicity and the Ambiguity of Cultural Identity in French Society" appeared in the Fall 2000 issue of French Politics, Culture and Society.
