30th Annual Meeting of the SW/TX PCA/ACA

Make travel plans now for the 2009 annual meeting of the Southwest Texas Popular/American Culture Association as we meet in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Our hard working area chairs and staff have been busy since our February meeting preparing for another outstanding conference. We cordially invite you to join us as we celebrate thirty years of success in the beautiful Land of Enchantment!

2009 Conference Highlights Include:

  • “Early Bird” online registration will begin July1, 2008 for those whose paper/panel presentations have been accepted by their respective area chairs. We ask that you limit your submissions to one paper or panel.

  • For 2009 we have added new exciting subject areas increasing our focus on cutting edge Popular/American culture studies.

  • We encourage all participants to register and book hotel reservations at your earliest convenience. Complete hotel reservation information will be available July 1, 2008.

  • AV support for 2009 includes wireless computer access in Phil’s Cyber Café and by popular demand each presentation room will be equipped with the following:

    LCD Projector – Power Point Friendly!
    DVD/VCR Combo Player
    Set of Stereo Speakers
    Large Projection Screen

The SWTX PCAACA is laptop friendly and we encourage you to bring your laptop to the conference!

  • For graduate students a complete list of SW/TX PCA/ACA graduate awards and submission information will be available August 1, 2008.
