Subject: Religion in the Contemporary South
I am a member of the H-South list. Recently I saw a review of a book called "Religion in the Contemporary South." I am a graduate student doing my thesis on a circuit riding minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church South from Arkansas. Unfortunately, I have never been north. I am wondering if the religions of the south before the Civil War had a persona that differs from that of the north. If so, is there still a subtle difference.
I would appreciate any feedback.
