I'm pretty sure this was already discussed on the list, so pardon my forgetfulness...I have a student who wants to do a review essay on the role of religion in the civil war. He needs about 5 good books. Could anyone give me a few quick suggestions to forward to him?

Tracy: Your student should definitely get a hold of Mitchell Snay's book, Gospel of Disunion: Religion and Separatism in the Antebellum South.

Pardon me, but since when are we doing our students' bibliographic work for them?
