Subject: Query: Confederate Congress
I am a graduate student in political science at the University of Mississippi. Currently I am engaged in some research concerning the Confederate Congress. Does anyone know of any resources from after the mid-1970s that I might be able to utilize? There seems to be a severe dearth of recent material on the subject. Thanks.

Check out the splendid Historical Atlas of the Congresses of the Confederate States of America: 1861-1865, by Kenneth C. Martis (NY: Simon & Schuster, 1994). There is a wealth of data, beautifully arranged. The publisher offered it at a pre-publication discount for $65.00. Assume it's still in print, but don't know the price. Any good library should have it.

How about George C. Rable, THE CONFEDERATE REPUBLIC (Chapel Hill, 1994)?
