The Society for Historians of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era (SHGAPE) co-sponsors and sponsors its own panels at both the annual meeting of the American Historical Association and the annual meeting of the Organization of American Historians
The Society for Historians of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era (SHGAPE) co-sponsors panels with the AHA and the OAH at their annual meetings. It also sponsors independent panels at both meetings. The 2014 AHA meets in Washington, DC; the 2014 OAH meets in Atlanta, GA.
Those who propose panels to the OAH or AHA program committees may apply for SHGAPE to co-sponsor panels by sending a copy of the complete proposal by e-mail to the chair of the SHGAPE Program Committee by the February 15 deadline.Send your proposals to Professor Lloyd E. Ambrosius, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, by e-mail at: firstname.lastname@example.org, so that they can be considered by the SHGAPE Program Committee. When appropriate, the SHGAPE Program Committee will then request co-sponsorship.
It is also possible to propose independent SHGAPE panels as an affiliated society of the AHA and the OAH. Our own deadline for proposing panels to both organizations is May 1 of the year before the conference for which you are applying to participate. To have your panel considered as part of SHGAPE's program, send a complete copy of the proposal to the chair of the Program Committee at the above e-mail address. The SHGAPE Program Committee will be happy to assist members in organizing and proposing sessions on the Gilded Age and Progressive Era.
