H-SAE policy on new book announcements (adopted Aug. 2006)
 
Based upon responses to a survey of the H-SAE readership, 
the list editors will approve submissions of new book 
announcements to the list from H-SAE subscribers and 
from the authors of books relevant to the anthropology 
of Europe, but not directly from publishers or their 
agents.  Acceptable elements of these announcements 
can include title, author, ISBN, price, and an abstract 
or link to an abstract.  Links to reviews are also acceptable. 
 
However, endorsements and ordering contact information 
are not welcome.  The exception to the restriction on 
providing ordering information for publications would 
be in the case where they are not easily obtainable from 
regular booksellers, such as university bookstores, 
online book sources, or local booksellers.
 
For example, a book on Eastern European migration published 
by the Greek Social Science Center can effectively only be 
purchased from that center.  So precise ordering information 
including mailing address and forms of payment accepted would 
be appropriate in such a case.
