Book
Review Submission Policy for The Journal for the Anthropology of Europe (JSAE)
The SAE Journal welcomes both book reviews and
review essays. Book reviews should
run between 750 to 1000 words. Review
essays may run up to 3000 to 3500 words. Reviews
of books considered to be of exceptional importance may be allowed a larger word
count. The disciplinary focus of
any books reviewed may be among any of the four fields (cultural,
archaeological, biological or linguistic), plus visual or applied anthropology,
provided that the subject area is Europe. We
are also interested in cross-disciplinary or theoretical works that may be of
interest to anthropologists working in Europe.
We greatly encourage non-cultural anthropological work, since the bulk of
our submissions fall into the cultural realm.
Those who have recently published works are welcome to submit their works
for review, along with a list of up to five potential reviewers.
The SAE Journal is not, however, bound to that list.
Those interested in becoming reviewers for the SAE Journal should write
to Liam D. Murphy at lmurphy@csus.edu
and indicate their areas of expertise or works they wish to review.
Unsolicited reviews and review essays are also welcome.
Book
reviews and review essays should follow the AAA style manual and formal
submissions should sent in electronic format (in MS-Word or Rich Text) to Liam Murphy at lmurphy@csus.edu ).
A hard copy should also be mailed to Liam D. Murphy,
6000 J St., #4022 Mendocino Hall,
Sacramento, CA, 95819-6106. Double spacing is required
for all materials, including quotations, references cited, notes, and headings.
Please use a 12 point font for all materials, including notes.
DO NOT use hard section or page breaks. Please include title, author,
institutional affiliation, and all current information including email.
Your manuscript should not be under consideration elsewhere.
Submission of materials does not guarantee publication.
