H-SAE, An H-Net Discussion Network

H-SAE is affiliated with H-Net, an independent, international consortium of scholars sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities and Michigan State University, where it is located. H-SAE is also affiliated with the Society for the Anthropology of Europe, a section of the American Anthropological Association. H-SAE is open to scholars, advanced students, teachers, and professionals who desire participation in academic discussions of the anthropology of Europe.

SAE Student Paper Competition for 2009
The 2009 SAE Student Paper Award submission deadline is May 15, 2009.

In other news, the SAE book series, European Anthropology in Translation, appearing from Berghahn, has published two volumes.
These are:

Birgit Müller's Disenchantment with Market Economics: East Germans and Western Capitalism (2007) and
Jasna Capo Zmegac's Strangers Either Way: The Lives of Croatian Refugees in their New Home (2007)
Several other volumes are still under consideration at various stages of the review process.
