Patricia Jernigan served over 25 years in the US Army in positions ranging from company commander of a WAC training company to chief of staff of a major Army agency, retiring as a colonel. Her extensive overseas service included eight years in Germany and one year in Vietnam. Current experience is in small business and contract support to the US government.
Major areas of expertise include Concept and proposal development, research, production, security, and crisis management. She is the principal author and editor for three major publications, has developed and implemented security programs for major public events, and supported crisis operations during local, regional, and international operations.
4/92 - Present. Senior Analyst, Galaxy Computer Services, Inc. Develop, coordinate, and produce studies, papers, briefings and proposals. Researched and produced a major book on passport development using a variety of open source information, the World Wide Web, and government information.
8/89 - 3/92. Senior staff manager for an DoD agency. Coordinated activities of four centers producing information on ground forces issues. Provided crisis planning and support, and developed the element's budget submission.
10/88 - 9/89. Chief of a DoD exploitation directorate. Directed analysis and long term studies supporting the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other Defense Department officials and agencies. Coordinated and directed technical evaluation of new analysis tools and techniques.
4/85 - 10/88. Team Chief and Inspector General in the Army Inspector General Agency. Led studies to identify major organizational systemic problems. Documented problems, identified causes, developed solutions, and obtained approval of senior leaders to implement corrective measures.
6/84 - 4/85. Managed military security support for the 1985 Presidential Inaugural. Developed a comprehensive security program to support military activities.
7/80 - 6/83. Branch chief for the US European Command joint staff. Developed and implemented an extensive all-source information program and provided crise oriented support for operations.
10/78 - 6/80. Team chief for a DoD agency element. Provided crisis-oriented information support for DoD and other government agencies.
6/76 - 10/78. Operations Officer for a US Army detachment. Coordinated and managed detachment programs.
9/64 - 6/76. Various student and military assignments with the Navy and Army in the US and overseas.
