McLean County Historical Society in Bloomington Illinois will open an exhibit entitled "A Matter of Life and Death: Health and Illness in McLean County" this October. It is a result of a two year research project, funded in part by the Illinois Humanities Council to investigate medical history in our midwestern community. The project has been directed by Dr. Lucinda Beier (Ph.D.) and has used oral history and documentary research methods in its work. We are also publishing an extensive "catalog" to accompany the exhibit which will amplify the themes.
