I'm replying to the request from Gerd Korman at Cornell for Long Island
resources.  I used to live in Long Island and worked at several
repositories that should be able to provide excellent help.  They are the
Queensborough Public Library, Jamaica, NY (Long Island Room) and the Long
Island Historical Society, in Brooklyn, NY. Unfortunately, I don't have
their addresses, but they should be listed in standard directories of
libraries and archives.
