           Bob--

Chris Waldrep has told you about the Harvard Guide to Legal
Citation, or the Blue Book. You will want to put your notes
in that style, because the editors of law journals are law
students, who have the commitment to form of the newly
           initiated.

Keep another thing in mind. Unlike the convention among
historians, it is customary for legal scholars to submit
copies of their articles to large numbers of legal journals
at the same time. When one decent one accepts, you then
inform the others that they must speed their decisions if
they wish to have the article.

i am considering submitting some of my research to legal journals, but i have some questions.

most importantly, will my articles be rejected out of hand because i do not have a law degree?

i use chicago manual of style rather than the format most often seen in legal journals. should i reformat the papers before submitting them or is the formatting process part of the editing cycle as would be with a history journal?

where can i obtain precise style guidelines for legal journals?

other tips or suggestions?

thanks in advance.
