Is there someone working on issues of gender and the law that could point me in the direction of some of the more interesting work being done in this area recently? I've got some good historical perspectives, but I need help with recent debates concerning things like gay rights, women and the workplace, and reproduction rights. Thanks in advance.

I think I answered Kerry David Soper's request on another list, but in case anyone else wants the same information: the best person with whom to start is Martha Fineman at Columbia Law School. She runs frequent all-day symposia on these issues and undoubtedly has a terrific network. Good luck!

Kerry Soper might want to take a look at _Representing Women: Law,
Literature, and Feminism_ edited by Susan Sage Henzelman and Zipporah B.
Wiseman (Duke UP, 1994).

To the person who wanted information about recent developments on law and gender (forgive me for having erased and now forgetting your name): I just got an e-mail on another list from someone who might be helpful. She's Debbie Budlender, of the Law Race & Gender Project, address DEBBUD@ DEBBUD@LAW.UCT.AC.ZA
